A leading provider of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) infrastructure platform, the company offers LNG import and regasification facilities, downstream city gas distribution networks, and engineering/project management.
The Challenge
The client rapidly scaled its City Gas Distribution (CGD) operations across a wide geographical spread, and it wanted a technological solution to address its significant operational challenges. Shift management and operational reporting were reliant on Excel-based, decentralized processes, leading to data silos and inefficiencies. Key decision-makers had limited visibility into daily operations and performance metrics across multiple districts. There was an increase in errors due to manual entry that hampered traceability and compliance. Disjointed and non-standard reporting practices created difficulties in performance monitoring, reconciliation, and regulatory readiness.
As a rapidly expanding organization with a geographically dispersed workforce and complex operations, the client also faced significant challenges in maintaining consistent internal communication, promoting cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring easy access to critical organizational knowledge and policies. Traditional methods of information sharing were siloed, inefficient, and often failed to engage employees effectively, especially in a technically-driven and safety-critical industry like LNG.
The Solution
To tackle these challenges, we developed a powerful and scalable digital system that included two interconnected web applications: the e-Logbook and the Daily Progress Report (DPR). We also built a secure, centralized Intranet Portal (iPortal) using PHP and the Laravel framework. The portal was customized to align with the client’s unique operational workflows and organizational culture. Its primary goal was to function as a dynamic internal platform that enhances communication, supports collaboration, and boosts employee engagement.
e-Logbook Web Application

Key features of the iPortal included a centralized communication hub for announcements, policy documents, project articles, and shared media, employee profiles and forums that empower individuals to connect, engage, and collaborate, leadership communication channel for direct CEO/MD updates, enhancing transparency, project knowledge hub to enable knowledge sharing among project engineers, policy repository with advanced filters and groupings for quick access, new joiner section to facilitate integration and team bonding, media gallery showcasing CSR initiatives and internal events with interactive features, admin and moderate controls for content curation and platform governance and secure access with role-based verification to ensure confidentiality and appropriate access levels.
